The weight reduction is structural: the updated ePE membrane is thinner and lighter than the previous GORE-TEX PRO construction while maintaining the same durability rating. The 80-denier recycled nylon face fabric is heavier than the ultralight face fabrics used in some competing shells, but Arc'teryx has chosen it deliberately — 80d provides the abrasion resistance and tear strength that backcountry skiing demands without the fragility of lighter weaves. The Rush Jacket is engineered for the full ski touring cycle — efficient on the ascent, fully protective on the descent. Snowsport-specific articulated patterning provides unrestricted arm and shoulder mobility during skinning and bootpacking without creating excess fabric that catches wind on the way down. The regular fit accommodates a mid-layer without restricting movement, and the pit zippers provide rapid ventilation management during high-output climbing. WaterTight zippers maintain waterproof integrity at every opening. The RECCO reflector is integrated without adding meaningful weight.
